STUDENTS from Millbank Primary School brought their bikes to class as part of an initiative to encourage safe cycling this week.
The 60 students enjoyed a day of cycle-themed fun under a scheme called the Bike It Project, run by the transport charity Sustrans. Eleven schools in the borough are taking part.
Angela Drizi, Westminster Council’s operational director of schools and learning, said: “We are delighted that so many children brought their bikes to school today. Cycling not only has health and environmental benefits, but it is also a skill for life. Raising children’s street awareness and their cycling knowledge is one of the best ways to ensure they stay safe. Knowledge has always been the best preventer of accidents.”
