Pelican crossing? Frozen pond leads to move for London Zoo birds

PELICANS at London Zoo were carried to a new watering hole this morning after their normal pond fell victim to dipping temperatures. Pictures supplied by ZSL show keepers moving the birds - each weighing around 10 kilograms - to a warmer part of the zoo after their regular pond kept freezing over in the cold.
