Illegal immigrant facing deportation following Queensway theft

A SNEAK thief was captured when he returned to the crime scene the following day – and was identified.

Jobless Iilyasse Baz had already been sent packing from the UK in 2004 after being jailed for four months for stealing, the Old Bailey heard.

The 25-year-old, living in Soho, had come back to London illegally and was arrested near McDonald’s in Queensway after the theft of a customer’s handbag.

Sentencing him to nine months and recommending deportation to Morocco, judge Oliver Sells QC, told him “The sooner you are deported the better.”
