A CHOIR from a Westminster school performed carols at the prestigious St James’s Concert yesterday (Thursday).
The Westminster Academy Choir – based in Westminster Academy, Harrow Road – started last year but has since gained a reputation for attracting talented pupils from all year groups and has performed in high-profile venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the European offices of credit card company Visa.
Only two schools were selected to perform at St James’s Concert, which also featured actors including Brian Blessed, Daniel Roche and Bonnie Wright (from the Harry Potter films) giving seasonal readings.
Westminster Academy head Jacqueline Tsoi said: “I am very proud of how the students have progressed this term with the choir. This is our first term together and I am looking forward to future performances as they have shown passion, enthusiasm and commitment for music.”
