LITTLE visitors to the Winter Fair at King Henry’s Walk in Mildmay made a bee-line for Santa’s grotto, nestling in the woods at the area’s community gardens.
Santa, aka Stephen Mason, handed out gifts to children during the festivities on Saturday.
Event organiser Marnie Rose said: “It was really fantasic. The grotto was in the middle of all the trees so it was something a bit different. It was magical for the children.”
Other attractions included The Robin Grey Band – joined by eight-year-old Scarlet Norton – who wowed the crowd with renditions of Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and other Christmas favourites.
Scarlet, who has been playing the fiddle for about a year, went hone to collect her instrument after she was asked to jam with the band.
The event, attended by 350 people, was organised by the community group that voluntarily maintains King Henry’s Walk Gardens. It raised £400 for group funds.
