SIXTH-FORM students at Camden School for Girls claim to have 'occupied buildings' in protest against government plans to hike university tuition fees and take away financial help to disadvantaged secondary school pupils.

The school in Sandal Road, whose alumni include Sarah Brown, wife of former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, has blocked press from getting inside to speak to students. Pupils say the demonstration is a '24 hour teach-in'. Their demands call on the school to publicly declare its opposition to the proposed removal of the . The pupils also want assurances that there will be no punishment for pupils involved in the protest Educational Maintenance Allowance.
