DETECTIVES are appealing for help from witnesses who can explain how a man came to be unconscious with a fractured skull outside a Farringdon nightclub just over a week ago.
Police found the 23-year-old man lying seriously injured outside Fabric in Charterhouse Street just before 6am on Saturday, July 31, after the London Ambulance Service reported a man had been assaulted and was unconscious.
Police believe the victim was involved in an altercation with a man who punched him in the head, knocking him unconscious.
The victim was taken to hospital with a fractured skull, although his injuries are not considered life threatening.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact investigating officer, acting Detective Sergeant Vanessa Gooseman on 020 7421 0176 or 07766 781 861 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
• A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault in Charterhouse Street, on July 31. He has been bailed to return to police in September.
