Singer George Michael charged over Hampstead High Street crash

SINGER George Michael has this morning been charged with possession of cannabis and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, after he crashed his car into a building in Hampstead High Street in July.

Michael, 47, from Highgate, is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court under his real name Georgios Panayiotou later this month.

He was arrested after the crash and taken to a police station, where he was bailed. He returned this morning and was charged.
