Police swoop finds 50 cannabis plants in Camden Town

Tuesday August 10, 2010

FIFTY cannabis plants were confiscated from a house in Camden Town this morning. A 50 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation following a police swoop in Bayham Street. Officers said the operation stemmed from complaints that cannabis plants had been 'brazenly' cultivated in a local garden. Sergeant Roger Smith of Camden Town with Primrose Hill Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said:  "We are committed to reducing the impact of drug related anti social behaviour in your neighbourhood and the removal of these cannabis plants will have a positive impact on the life of your local community." The suspect is being questioned at a police station this afternoon.
