A YOUNG couple arrested earlier this week and charged with the murder of their infant son who died more than a year ago appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday (Thursday).
Four month old Jayden Wray, of Armour Close, Roman Way, Holloway, had suffered multiple fractures to his head and limbs.
Unemployed Rohan Wray, 21, and student Chana Al-Alas, were not asked to enter pleas to the murder count.
Prosecutor Thomas Halpin alleged: “This is a baby who has been systematically abused.”
Listening over video links, Wray, at Feltham Remand Centre in West London, and Al-Alas, at Holloway Prison, heard Mr Halpin say the baby had three skull fractures and breaks to an arm, leg and foot.
Judith Khan, QC, for Al-Alas, succeeded in a bail applicaton. Her client was told she would be released with a £20,000 surety, must live at a fixed address and report twice weekly to Islington Police Station.
