GOVERNORS at a Gospel Oak primary school have launched an investigation after “an alleged incident involving a member of staff”.

Further details about the case at Carlton School in Grafton Road are being kept under wraps.

A council spokeswoman said: “No further comment will be made until the new term.”

Parents who contacted the New Journal said an allegation of assault had been made.

Chairman of governors Mick Farrant said he “could not comment” on the alleged attack because internal investigations were not complete.

The school fell under the spotlight last year when two members of staff failed at employment tribunals when they claimed they had been unfairly sacked following a fight at a Christmas party.
