WHEN it came to dealing with the bad weather on Saturday, staff at the Ash Court Care Centre in Kentish Town had a trick or two up their sleeve.

They brought in magician Shaanvir Rehal to brighten up their summer fair with a series of mesmerising card tricks.

A trio from the Pearly Kings and Queens Society also helped to brighten spirits, along with Mayor Jonathan Simpson, who opened the event.

Staff at the care centre in Ascham Street more than played their part in the fun as they performed a string of dance routines.

Despite the bad weather, centre manager Nancy Rasool was delighted with the turnout. “The day was about bringing everyone together and I think it went really well,” she said. “Even though there were showers everyone enjoyed themselves and had fun.”
