GIANT bubbles, spinning plates and the sound of drums greeted visitors who popped into the children’s fun day at Calthorpe Project in King’s Cross on Saturday.

Youngsters learned a host of circus skills, including juggling, plate spinning and how to master the diabolo, a juggling prop.

Other highlights were a street dance workshop and a demonstration by Raices Latinas Latin American dance group, based at the community garden in Grays Inn Road. Calthorpe Project coordinator Louise Gates said afterwards: “Considering that the weather wasn’t that good there was still plenty of activities for families to take part in and everyone really loved the garden. We want to thank the performers and everyone who came along and joined in the fun.”
