NO Bill or Ben among these young flowerpot kids on the Churchill Gardens estate in Pimlico.
Green-fingered children were this week celebrating the opening of a new green space on a former disused playground in the heart of the estate. It comes after 18 months of hard work and features more than 50 plant species including a rare tulip tree.
Speaking at the unveiling of Riverside Gardens, Mark Hoyland, chief executive of CityWest Homes, the group that manges the council’s social housing stock, said it was a welcome addition to the area.
“This garden is an example of how keen we are to work closely with residents to provide the kind of facilities they want,” he added. “I am sure it will be very popular with families on the Churchill Gardens estate as a really inspiring space for everyone to enjoy.”
