A TAX adviser was discovered dead in his Islington home by a bailiff who had come to seize the property.

Kyriakos-Robin Monembastis was found fully clothed in the bathtub of his home in Britton Street, Farringdon, on January 20.

The 38-year-old was originally from Greece but had come to London to work. He had become unemployed shortly before his death.

Mr Monembastis was discovered after a bailiff visited his home to serve a warrant to repossess the property, after he had fallen into debt.

An inquest at St Pancras Coroner’s Court yesterday (Thursday) was unable to establish the cause of his death.

Described by his sister as a heavy smoker who suffered from work-related stress, Mr Monembastis did not have any problems with his health and there was no evidence of suicide.

Coroner Dr Andrew Reid, recording an open verdict, said: “I can exclude suspicious circumstances and rule out the possibility that he harmed himself.”
