Safety first on the buses
Published: September 15, 2011
TRAFFIC accidents involving London buses have increasingly blighted Boris Johnson’s City Hall since he became Mayor of London.
Just another sign that this area may be sinking into the abyss of a new dark age, (The foxes are in the trees now).
Transport for London tell me they cannot hold information about bus accidents because it is not possible to determine which operator has the “best” or “worst” safety record given that each company operates a different number of routes.
Bus drivers have a duty to provide passengers with a safe, smooth and comfortable journey and are expected to behave in a polite and professional manner, and not to be driving erratically or at excessive speed.
In fact, the safety of passengers, as well as that of other road users is an issue that should be taken extremely seriously.
