Marathon road works?
Published: September 15, 2011
I ASSUME the sudden rush to tear up London’s streets, and replace outdated sewers, cables and bridges, etc (and all at once) is due to the Olympics.
And this with no regard to the lives and times of Londoners.
Just take Kilburn and West End Lane as an example. For most of the past nine years, traffic has been disrupted.
As a result, could some effort have been made at co-ordination, so that traffic disruption and diversions could be carried out with as few hold-ups as possible?
As a consequence, the journey time from Kilburn to the West End can take up to one hour. Today, a similar straightforward bus trip (on the No 31) took me 50 minutes (instead of the usual 25 to 30).
