• AT West Hampstead Community Centre we are hugely disappointed that Camden is to not renew our funding from December 2011.

This decision has hit us particularly hard in view of the fact that we are a new centre.

We have effectively been in operation since June 2010 and have not yet had the opportunity to build up substantial reserves or attract large amounts of other funding.

Staff, trustees and volunteers have worked very hard to design a range of activities and programmes with and for the local community to create a full and varied programme.

We continue to develop new activities and have received funding towards running a sports project for our local youth.

We will be having a public meeting on October 18 to galvanise support and let people know about our exciting range of autumn and winter activities.

We are working to raise funds from alternate sources and would like everyone to know that we have funding at least until March of 2012 and will be applying to Camden for transitional funding so that we can continue to grow and develop our local community.
