Ensuring the future of Holly Lodge community centre

Published: September 8, 2011

IN contrast to the impression given in letters from Councillor Maya de Souza and Alexis Rowell (Letters, September 1), Camden’s councillors and staff are doing their utmost to ensure the future of the Holly Lodge community centre and family centre.

Funding arrangements are being put in place to keep them going, and for a new facility for the family centre to be part of the regeneration of the mansion blocks.

Moreover senior staff of the council have met Friends of Highgate Library, Cllr Tulip Siddiq and myself to look into the options for alternative use of some of the space in the library which had been used by the mobile library.

These arrangements need some time to work out in detail. Residents can be reassured we will not allow these important facilities and services in Highgate ward to be lost to our community.

Labour, Highgate ward
