Don’t close the nursery
Published: 1 September, 2011
• THE reason given for closing the much-loved nursery on the Cressfield estate is that the residents of the estate wish to use the building for various leisure activities, such as luncheon clubs and barbecues.
Can Camden really think the building will be better employed like this than it was when it was a nursery on weekdays and a venue for local and mainly ethnic groups at the weekends?
As for the change of use being the will of the residents of the estate: not everyone was consulted, as they should have been, and no one I have spoken to favours the change.
As a Cressfield leaseholder, but above all as a Camden resident, I take great exception to the closing down of this nursery.
