Clarification on Lismore Circus Fun Day

I WISH to correct your coverage of our community event, held on September 3, the Lismore Circus Fun Day.

It was not organised by Gospel Oak Neighbour­hood Action Group as reported, but rather by the tenants’ and residents’ associations of five council estates, adjacent to the Circus. This was clearly stated on our posters, it was clearly announced a number of times over loudspeakers on the day, and it was repeatedly emphasised to the New Journal.

I do not understand why, therefore, the CNJ said the day was a GONAG event.

Those of us who organised of the festival want more of the council estates next to Lismore Circus to get involved in putting on another event. It would be a shame if they were put off because of any misunderstanding your piece has created.

I would appreciate it therefore, if you could print this letter to aid us in our venture.
