Again, where will the homeless get their free meals?

Published: September 8, 2011

I’VE been shocked at the lack of respect shown by Camden Council for Food for All (Why so silent on Food For All? Letters, September 1).

As I understand it local and central government have a duty to respond to any concern expressed by a member of the public, within 10 working days.

Camden have, to date, completely ignored Mr Peter O’Grady’s open letter, and have shown a total disregard for the fantastic work carried out by the Hare Krishna movement across our communities, who for years have provided food and a listening ear to those in need.

Did I not read in another newspaper that Westminster Council (Conservative) will punish anyone who is caught feeding those who are living in the gutters of our society.

Yes Westminster will fine you up to £500 for showing consideration for those in need.

It would appear, then, that there is a hidden agenda and that is to clean up London, streets, for the 2012 Olympics.

It is a very sad day to find a Labour-controlled authority licking up to the Conservative- Liberal Democrat government and showing a total lack of respect for those in need.
