Saving a community centre from cuts

• THE main item for discussion at the annual meeting of the Holly Lodge Community Centre this week is how to raise funding to keep the centre going.

Eagle-eyed readers will remember from the recent Highgate by-election that, in their leaflets, Labour claimed to have saved the Holly Lodge Community Centre.

The reality is that the Labour-run council has cut the centre’s core funding to zero.

The community centre’s management committee are now calling for donations to replace the grant that Labour cut.
