We won’t keep quiet on cuts to disabled services
Published: 27th May, 2011
• I WAS pleased to read the coverage of the Hardest Hit demo in central London (‘It’s wrong to label us as work-shy’, May 13). It was the biggest gathering of disabled people ever.
I work for a charity which supports people with learning disabilities. We joined the extremely well-named demo; 30 of us marched with our banner.
The attacks on benefits and quality of life through the Welfare Reform Bill are immense, devastating and totally unjust.
Disabled people are furious and will not be keeping quiet. Is “all in this together” the biggest lie since Tony Blair told us Iraq had WMD.
