Stay safer on cycles

• AS a cyclist with 60 years’ experience I was nearly killed some years ago at the exact spot in Camden Town Paula Jurek was killed.

I did not follow my own advice, that is, when you are standing near the front of a queue of traffic and on the inside lane with a lorry to the right of you, always, but always, get of your bike and stand on the pavement until the lorry has either gone straight on or turned left.
