NHS still at risk
Published: 5 May, 2011
• I HAVE been wondering what the Coalition government is hoping to do during the two months delay to the Health and Social Care Bill that they have initiated.
Then I remembered that Lansley and Cameron are both public relations men.
So, I presume they will be working on presentation rather than content. Which means we still risk losing our NHS to private profit-making companies which will fragment a service that has developed gradually over many years in response to patients’ pressures and needs and staff initiatives.
There is a big demonstration planned against the NHS cuts on May 17 in central London at 5.30pm for a 6pm start (see Keep our NHS Public website for details) and a Camden public meeting on May 9 at the Town Hall at 7pm. We need everybody’s support.
