Good old shop days

• HOW very silly are we to shop in these big supermarkets so that we lose our friendly little butchers with sawdust on their floors who thought nothing of giving you a free bone for the dog.
They would ask after your family; there would be a smiling welcome good morning.
I had an awful experience in Morrisons in Camden Town recently. I will never set foot in there again.
They had marked up some chickens at the wrong price: some herb chickens priced up at £4 but the others were £4.49. I politely asked the gentleman serving me if I could have four at the £4 as advertised and another guy working next to him said: “No you bloody can’t.”
How nice is that? Would our local butcher ever have spoken to us like that? I think not but that’s what happens when you get a big supermarket.
No one cares.
