Fighting poverty

Published: 13 May, 2011

• WORLD Fair Trade Day is tomorrow (Saturday) May 14.

There are millions in the world experiencing hunger and hardship and we can provide opportunity not charity by supporting Fairtrade products. Fairtrade provides a way for the world’s poor to work their way out of poverty by using the Fairtrade premium to benefit their communities by funding schools, clinics and methods of cultivation.

People all over the country have been decorating bunting in an attempt to be part of our Guinness World Record attempt to have the longest piece of bunting in the world. We’ll be hanging (hopefully) world record breaking bunting in Battersea Park tomorrow.

Hope to see you there!

The global economic crisis, food crisis and climate change affect the world’s most vulnerable population hardest.
