Easter quiet swept away

Published: 6 May, 2011

• IT’S an absolute disgrace that Islington Council was street cleaning on Easter Sunday. Not only is the noisy machine a disturbance on a Sunday morning, Easter is a religious holiday and should be respected.

It’s a waste of council tax-payers’ money to be paying holiday rates to employees. It’s not necessary and shows a blatant lack of consideration to those of us who are Christian and hold up Easter on a par with Christmas. It’s simply not done.
