There is an alternative – join the TUC march against cuts

Published: 11 March 2011

• THE effects of the government’s deep cuts in public spending are now being felt in communities across the United Kingdom.

Not only are thousands of jobs going in both the public and private sectors, but vital public services, upon which some of the most vulnerable in our society depend, are being scaled down and in many cases are disappearing altogether.

We’re hoping that residents will join the thousands of ordinary men, women and children converging on central London on Saturday March 26 to take part in the TUC’s march for the alternative against the cuts and for a different economic approach instead of the government’s damaging austerity measures. Leaving Victoria Embankment from midday, the marchers are heading to Hyde Park for a rally at 1.30pm
