How axe will fall

• YOU write: “That £52m – 16 per cent of the £322m budget for the year – is just the beginning for Islington, however. Another three cuts of £50m are planned, meaning that in four years the Town Hall will lose £200m from its budget” (Anger that turns a typical liberal into a protester occupying bank, March 4).

To be clear, we do not have to cut £50m a year for four years. We are faced with cuts of £100m over four years; this has been made clear at various media briefings – the cuts are front-loaded.
