This is hardly a programme of closures

Published: 25 March, 2011

• YOUR article on pensions for senior staff at Westminster City Council (Pension pots of £1m for City Hall bosses, March 11) referred to David Ruse, director of libraries “…overseeing a library closure programme”.

I attended an area forum last week where we were told that there are no library closures in the north half of Westminster and the only library to close in the southern half will be replaced by a new library which is to be built. I think to call this a “library closure programme” is not an accurate statement of the actual position.
