Get behind our school
Published: 3 March, 2011
• AS parents of primary school-age boys, we have watched the fortunes of William Ellis School with interest over the past few years. This highly respected school has had to overcome a run of financial and leadership difficulties. Confidence in the school among families has understandably wavered.
But the school is now enjoying an exciting turn of fortune. In less than a year the interim “uber-head” has brought about profound and positive changes. Keeping up the momentum, the school has now appointed a superb new permanent head to take up the reins in September.
Morale is high and William Ellis looks set to follow rapidly in the footsteps of its neighbour, Parliament Hill Girls School, which has recently been rated “outstanding” by Ofsted.
Our boys will all be starting there in September and we, as parents, are looking forward to playing our part by supporting our local school in its endeavour to deliver excellent education and opportunities for all. We urge all parents who have been lucky enough to receive an offer from William Ellis to join us in September. We will all work together and with the school to ensure this is a positive choice that none will regret.
