Ambitions!

• YET again council leader Nasim Ali is hedging his bets – this time over the high-speed train programme, (New Journal, March 24).
I remember him speaking out against the cuts at the town hall a few weeks back and then voting in favour of them along with the other Labour councillors.
I asked him in the street one day why didn’t they all resign on mass in protest but, hey, that would upset his political ambitions.
He ran away and would not engage in debate. I, along with a few others in the borough, will no doubt have recognised this flaw in his political character and will certainly not be voting or supporting him even if he attains a higher position up the greasy pole.
