Wanted: young volunteers who can help spruce up Union Chapel
Published: 17 June, 2011
• WE are looking for a group of young volunteers to spend part of their holidays preserving and protecting Islington Union Chapel, as part of Conservation Service Volunteers’ Cathedral Camps summer tour.
Cathedral Camps will see young people getting involved in all aspects of chapel life, from clearing overgrown shrubs in the dark corners of the grounds to painstakingly cleaning marble statues with cotton buds.
Our camp runs from August 17-24, with Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday free for relaxation.
Activities are arranged for the evenings.
Campers make a contribution of £155 towards accommodation, food, tools, equipment, instruction, supervision and work materials. For further information about Cathedral Camps, contact www.cathedralcamps.org.uk or call 0207 643 1395
