Support for North London Central Mosque

• COMMITTEE members of Islington Faiths Forum wish readers to know that the North London Central Mosque in Finsbury Park is very much in our thoughts and prayers (Mosque evacuated in ‘white powder’ scare, June 17). 

We would like to express our support for the Muslim community. We denounce such acts of terror and disrespect and are united in our support for the mosque at such a difficult time. We are aware of the mosque’s commitment to the community, its openness to other faith communities and contribution to civic life. 

We pray most earnestly for an end to all acts that would seek to cause fear in the Muslim community and to destabilise the good community relations which we enjoy.
