Radio seeks new hospital

Published: 9 June, 2011

• THE end of an era… volunteer members past and present and friends met at Annie’s Bar in Kentish Town on Saturday to celebrate the years of good work London Network Radio has provided to the patients of the Royal Free and lately the Whittington hospital.

After more than 26 years the radio station was forced to close its studios by the hospital because the charity would not go against its constitution and hire out TV sets to the patients.

LNR was due to move to new premises and was making advance plans greatly to improve the signal to all the hospital patients plus the staff and visitors and improve its programming when it was unexpectantly curtailed by the demand by the hospital management.

LNR are committed to providing local information and entertainment to patients, staff and visitors of any London hospital.

So, apart from our search for another hospital we also would like to find a small premises to operate the voluntary radio station from.

Can you help us by donating a small premises or one with a small amount of rent? If you can help us help hospital patients we will be eternally grateful.
