Help to others

• JANET Vance was a friend and an amazing woman who never let her considerable disability get the better of her but always remained positive and forward-looking.

I never once heard Janet complain about her lot in life. She was too busy helping other people. She was a conscientious churchwarden at

St Anne’s with a clear understanding of the Church’s Christian message but, having been born in Soho and lived there all her life, she used all her heart and soul, remarkable energy, integrity, fairmindedness, courage and wonderful sense of humour for the good of the wider community.

I have never met anyone more impressive or inspirational than Janet.

She left everyone else in the shade when a job needed to be done and we will sorely miss her cheery presence and acts of kindness.

She was the best of everything and her many friends know it will be impossible to replace her.
