Grateful for the barrier
Published: 16 June, 2011
• IN response to your Leader on the Grafton Road traffic barrier (Fine fiasco as forest of road signs lead to confusion, June 2) it is important that it is well known that this barrier has transformed the lives of the residents of Grafton Road.
Prior to its installation we were subjected to 2,000 traffic journeys each day.
The pollution was extremely harmful to all, especially the children.
The traffic jams during rush hours extended from Prince of Wales Road to Holmes Road in the morning and similarly during the evening.
After years of lobbying, Camden Council acknowledged this environmental situation and offered the barrier as a solution.
We are, and always have been, most grateful for this.
