Toilets that are neither public nor convenient

• I’M a disabled woman who suffers from bowel problems.

On a recent visit to the shops in Queen’s Crescent, Kentish Town, I suddenly needed to use the toilet. I went into the community centre there  and asked if I would be able to use the toilets there.

I was refused. The young lady at the front desk said that their toilets were not for public use.

I was very distressed by all this. Surely, the centre is for the whole community?

After all, I only live a half mile from it. I don’t think I should have been refused.

I got caught short and soiled myself. It was so embarrassing.
