Museum piece?

• THE statue of Prince Albert, consort to Queen Victoria, has survived at Holborn Circus for 137 years (‘Dirty Bertie’ gets blame for crashes, July 15) but, neglected over the years, it is steadily deteriorating.

Were it repaired it would continue to be a fine example of the equestrian type and certainly more graceful than those around Whitehall. Why the City has allowed it to deteriorate is puzzling.

If it is decided to remove it, a location could surely be found for it in Exhibition Road. The prince was keen on education, and millions visit the many museums inspired by him.
