Inhumane behaviour

• I WAS shocked by Eugenie Matthias’s letter about the “persecution” by Camden Council of the Food for All project (Stop harassing good folk who care for the homeless, July 7). 

How is it we respond generously and enthusiastically to starving people in many parts of the world yet deny the starving people on our doorstep a little food and impose fines on the admirable people who provide it, at no cost to the public? 

I suggest the council are not representing those who voted for them by this callous and inhumane behaviour and we need to oppose it. And has the council not heard of the “Big Society”?
