Don’t let them ruin our cool vibe

• AS a person who loves Camden, I am worried about these new plans for the market’s redevelopment.

I am lucky to live near this unique, fabulous, cool town, and go there virtually every day.

There is nowhere else on Earth like Camden Town. 

Not only can you find virtually every fashion style and music genre, you can buy unique indie-made items, clothing, jewellery or crafts!

There is something for everybody. My big concern is that the new development will be filled with high-rent units that get filled with boring fashion shops that one usually finds on Oxford Street or malls.

I’m sure that the other residents and Camden boys and girls feel the same way!

NO to large corporate rent!

NO to high street fashion blandness!

NO to shopping mall atmospheres!

NO to housing only for the wealthy!

YES to the Camden bohemian unique vibe!

YES to stalls for local crafts people, arts grads, fashion grads, indie small business, creative people!

YES to affordable rents!

YES to eco-friendly!

YES to lots of new social housing!

YES to green space, trees, wildlife!

Camden Council, please do what many councils don’t do – that is listen to people in the area and care about the unique cool vibe!
