Never had it so good!

• HOW can there be a recession when there are so many vehicles on the road? What’s more, most of them have only one person in them. If there was, indeed, a shortage of everything surely we’d be seeing huge swathes of people obliged to walk to work or to the shops? 

Children would once again be observed sauntering to work. Neighbours would be giving each other lifts. And there would be lots of empty parking spaces everywhere. 

A recession? In my opinion, we have indeed never had it so good.
