Make every vote count

• THE Camden Yes to Fairer Votes campaign was delighted to read that Conservative Councillor Andrew Marshall is in favour of changing our out-of-date voting system. (Conservatives split on electoral reforms, January 13).
Our campaign is made up of people from all parties and none who believe in a fairer system, where every vote counts and MPs have to work harder and listen more.
With the Alternative Vote, MPs have to win the support of 50 per cent of local people to be elected and stay elected. Not only would this help to end “MPs for life”, it would mean MPs’ focus would be where it should be – on their constituents’ needs, opinions and concerns.
