I believe…

• AS soon as the artwork appeared I smiled (Street artists: what do you believe? January 13).

An otherwise nondescript block of flats suddenly became something more than the sum of its parts.

Street art is definitely a matter of taste but one can’t help but wonder if the knee-jerk opposition to it comes from a dislike of modernity and progress and the fear of art outside the walls of a gallery.

• ALTHOUGH incredible that some think that the childish and badly painted I Believe slogan that dominates Camden from Lulworth tower has artistic merit, it’s equally astounding that the people responsible for running the building intend to ask residents of the block to vote whether or not to keep the eyesore. And how did vandals get onto the roof?
