Free minds made up!

• I WAS initially pleased to see the “advert” from the Royal Free Hospital wrapped round the New Journal (January 20).

According to the headline, it was seeking people’s views on proposals for the hospital to become a foundation trust. But once I read further I realised how naive I had been. This alleged consultation is only happening after the Free has lodged its application to change its status. Many of us, if asked in time, would have said we didn’t want such an application to be made in the first place, because we value an NHS which is co-operative.
