Dogs jibe offensive

Published: 14 January, 2011

• YESTERDAY, I listened with interest to comments about dog control orders on Paul Ross and Gaby Roslyn’s Breakfast Show on BBC Radio London.

This was followed by a much fuller feature by Vanessa Feltz in which she reported that Robert Elms, another BBC radio representer, had gone on record stating that “all dogs should be banned in London”.

While one is entitled to a personal opinion, I feel that airing his misguided and personal prejudices is an abuse of Mr Elm’s position as an employee of the BBC. Such inflammatory, ill-informed and deeply offensive comments are not what I would expect from an employee at the BBC. I have submitted a formal complaint and await a response from the BBC.
