A clash of evidence?

• THE Review piece by Tom Foot about James Hanratty, who was hanged for murder in 1962, (Hanratty – the campaign to clear his name continues, January 14) talks about the fallibility of DNA matches re the case,
But in the same issue, the film reviewer of Conviction, on the same use of DNA, states: “You can’t help but marvel at how clever scientists are to be able to use such breakthroughs to solve cold case crimes.”
Well, which is it, cleverness or fallibility? Fallible cleverness? Clever fallibility?
Or a bit of both?
