Problems of pizza restaurant permissions
Published: 17 February, 2011
• ISN’T Emma Taylor being a bit unfair about the difficulty of healthy eating in Kentish Town?
There are many excellent inexpensive cafés which serve nutritious healthy food, not just chips and hamburgers and while a pizza is often welcome I wouldn’t have thought of one as being at the top of the list when it came to healthy eating. We have many small independently run cafés in Kentish Town as well as the smarter ones Emma Taylor refers to (February 10). The worry with the Itta Pizza application is not so much with Itta Pizza, but that if they had obtained the permission they sought, the building not the current occupiers would permanently have permission to become a restaurant, and no amount of campaigning would have prevented yet another chain from detracting from the still distinctive feel of Kentish Town High Street.
